History
BODIVA was established in 2014 as part of Angola’s financial sector modernization, initially focused on government bond auctions. Equity trading launched in 2022 with the BAI IPO. By November 2024, BODIVA had itself become the fifth listed security on its own exchange — an unprecedented self-listing that was 778.9% oversubscribed.
Functions
BODIVA operates three core functions: (1) the regulated market for equity and debt securities trading, (2) the auction platform for government treasury bills and bonds on behalf of the BNA and Ministry of Finance, and (3) through its subsidiary CEVAMA, the central securities depository and settlement system.
